As the medical world continues to search for the magic blue pill of sildenafil, a new study has revealed the potential of the medication in treating erectile dysfunction (ED).
The study, published in the journal Urology, found that sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra, can be used to treat ED in patients who have not responded to other treatments. However, it is not currently licensed in the U. S. as a medication for ED. This study was conducted by Dr. Thomas Mann, an investigator at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and his colleagues at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
“Viagra has been studied for its effectiveness in treating erectile dysfunction,” Mann told the Journal of Sexual Medicine, “but the results have not been published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
“Although there is no FDA approved indication for using Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction, it is recommended by the Food and Drug Administration for patients taking nitrates or nitric oxide donors. It is also recommended that Viagra be used with caution in patients with heart disease, if they are not already taking their nitrates.”
Viagra is the active ingredient in the brand-name drug Viagra, sold under the brand name Revatio, which has been used to treat erectile dysfunction since 1998. While this drug does not have a licensed formulation in the U. S., it has been found to be a safe and effective treatment for ED.

The only benefit is the safety and efficacy,” he said.
